I have a certain affinity for graffiti myself as well as a fascination with stop motion. So this is the perfect marriage for me. Crazy cool. And you are right, there is something about the rebellious nature of graffiti that takes up the cool factor. It has a certain raw quality that fits with potential punishment for its creation.

Re: babysitting = great birth control…

well, except when the come by two's... true on the staggered start makes a big difference though, let's you grow into it.

Re: babysitting = great birth control…

Nice . . . I remember the days of babysitting and remember thinking I'd NEVER be able to be a parent. It is a lot of work, but the good news is that they start small - and usually come one at a time. :)

Re: #dreamyear – platform vs passion…

"If the book sold posthumously, would that be success?"

Absolutely. I think it would be a success, though not in the same context as many define success to be -- your reference to "instant gratification" has some foreshadowing to what I believe most ascribe true success to be... ie: wealth, fame, noteriety, et cetera.

I would define success differently when we are talking of writing, specifically a story or a work of nonfiction, in which case success is mostly characterized by longevity as opposed to short-term wealth generation. I want my writing to impact my grandchildren, and not just in a financial way. But again, that is just me.

Re: #dreamyear – platform vs passion…

This is a great question, with answers dependent upon the phase of writing the writer finds themselves in. I would argue, along the lines of McKee, that the passion that pens the story will eventually open a whole in the market. If it's good, it will be discovered. The problem with that is two-fold. One, we desire instant recognition. If it's not on the bestseller list, or widely acclaimed as soon as it was released, surely it was a bust. Second, we often over-associate our craft with a singular project within that craft. If the book doesn't sell, the writer's legitamacy is not void.
So the question is...how long are we willing to wait?
If the book sold posthumously, would that be success?

Re: wedding video…

love it

Re: wedding video…

It was a wonderful weekend for all! Amazing how much "touch" you get by dropping the physical for the digital. It adds some incredible depth to the experience of reading, and don't think any publisher can ignore the appeal of that depth and the competitiveness it gives to a product - and I think TentLife has such a wealth of content beyond the print that could be incorporated.

My Kindle has already changed the way I read, I outspend on the Kindle easily what I do on physical books. It has proven an exceptional travel companion and a great investment.

My little kiddo, not even 6 months, already loves children's stories on my iPhone. Read aloud by me or the narrator, same pages with just a touch of movement and animation and they'll captivate her attention.

iPads and everything else are going to change education as well. Already have seen some incredible touch-driven museum displays filled with interactive and realistic animated elements. Can't imagine what it will do to text books.

Re: addition by adoption…

You should do book reviews for Affect!

Re: addition by adoption…

Thanks for checking out the book and sharing your thoughts.

Kevin D.
